Prickly Pear - Acrylic 16" x 20"

This 16" x 20" acrylic painting was done one afternoon at my mom's house.  We were playing around, creating and I looked at a photo of another painting and did my version of it.

These next three didn't turn out right on the white part, but I really liked the design, so I wanted to post them, but I am planning on doing them over.  The colors are hot pink, black, and white and lime green, black, and white.  They are SOOO much cuter in person.

Getting Creative in the New Studio

I had come across some notes from the great love of my life.  I've kept these notes for years and have kept other messages from him as well.  As I sat reading them again, I wanted to preserve them in a beautiful way, one that would remind me of just how special our relationship was.  So, I started to create a collage for them.

The final product was touched up with a glazing of green paint and then touches of orange and brown to bring some depth to the edges of the words and collage.  The photo doesn't do it justice.  It is much prettier in person.
