Art Gallery in a Barbershop

My sister, Kristi, is moving to Mooreland, Oklahoma today.  She is starting a new life and opening a new barbershop.  She's being gracious enough to let me hang some of my artwork and photography in an extra room she has at the barbershop.  I'm actually going to put prices on my work and see if it sells....wish me luck!

The pieces below are what I thought I'd start out with.  As always, I still haven't figured out how to photograph my work very well.  It looks better in person :).

Birthday Party Invitations

My daughter's friend is having her 16th birthday in a few weeks.  She asked me if I could make her invitations for her party.  She wanted them to be in lavender, grey, black, and white and wanted them to all be different.  Luckily, I only had five to make.

Magnets to Coordinate with "LOVE" Wall Hanging

I painted these magnets in the same colors as the "LOVE" Wall Hanging...hot pink, light pink, and tangerine on an espresso background.

"LOVE" Wall Hanging

Each of the letters on this wall hanging was hand-painted on a 3" x 3" canvas and suspended from a floral ribbon.  The background is espresso brown and the letters are hot pink, light pink and tangerine to match the colors of the ribbon.  The letters and ribbon are hung on a dowel rod that was painted using a textured metallic paint in a matching color.  The final embellishment was to add two decorative flowers at the ends of the dowel rod.

Edmond Memorial High School Magnets

These are a few of the EMHS magnets I made.  Since school is starting, I think I will make a lot more.  The colors are the Bulldog maroon and grey, black and white.  The colors in the photos look blue and red. 

All magnets are $3.00 each.

Today I completed 19 more magnets.  This is so much fun and I think they are getting better and better.

Prickly Pear - Acrylic 16" x 20"

This 16" x 20" acrylic painting was done one afternoon at my mom's house.  We were playing around, creating and I looked at a photo of another painting and did my version of it.
